Devotion - Sober in the Spirit
“Sobriety is not the absence of pleasure but the presence of purpose”
Sobriety in the spirit means we are not intoxicated by the distractions, emotions, or temptations that cloud our discernment and dull our faith. It means we are clear-headed, grounded, and awake to what God is doing and what the enemy is attempting.
Being sober in the spirit is like turning on a light in a dark room. You can finally see what’s there: the lies, the traps, the compromise—but also the promises, the path, and the presence of God.
To be spiritually sober is to live with intention!
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
1 Peter 5:8
